SIG Awarded Phase I SBIR Contract with the U.S. Air Force for High Range Resolution (HRR) Surrogate SAR Target Identification

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Signal Innovations Group (SIG) was awarded a Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract with the U.S. Air Force.  The objective of this effort is to improve the efficiency of ATR development by leveraging data across radar modalities.  Current approaches are challenged by the fundamental differences in radar phenomenology between sensor modes.  SIG will apply its unique experience in both EM physics and statistical machine learning to identify subsets salient physical scattering mechanisms, suitable for ATR features, across these multiple sensing modalities.
