National Security

With technologies that help interpret large quantities of diverse sensor and multi-INT data, SIG is enhancing the effectiveness of our nation’s warfighters and helping to improve the security of our nation’s infrastructure.

Airborne ISR

Recent advances in airborne intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities have provided significant tactical and strategic advantages in conducting counter-terrorist operations. Warfighters and analysts can use airborne ISR systems to detect and track key personnel and identify critical infrastructure and operations. To further this advantage, US defense agencies are rapidly developing and deploying new large format sensors on an expanding fleet of UAVs. In addition to wide area motion imagery (WAMI), other sensors including high-resolution full-motion video (FMV), synthetic aperture radar, and radio frequency systems all offer potential to provide unprecedented understanding of insurgent operations.

Tactical Target Recognition

Sensor data, including radar, sonar, images, and video, are collected onboard manned and unmanned vehicles in order to find and recognize air, ground, and undersea military targets. SIG’s target recognition software utilizes advanced statistical data modeling techniques that accurately detect and discriminate targets in sensor data. The software provides an automated real-time capability that can be adapted and optimized for any sensor and environmental conditions.

Cyber Security

Cyber-security remains one of the key challenges of the 21st century. While no system can ever be 100% secure, SIG’s hierarchical security assessment framework provides the capability of understanding a system’s risk profile. Building on probabilistic machine learning technologies, the framework is orders of magnitude faster and significantly less expensive than the use of “red teams” to assess system security, allowing a cyber-defender to iteratively evaluate system security during the planning stages of a project, rather than retrofitting the security model after implementation.

Multi-Source Intelligence

The analysis and understanding of very-large repositories of mixed-source data, including signal-intelligence, human-intelligence and communications-intelligence, drives national security. By combining state-of-the-art techniques in natural language processing, statistical analysis and graph theory, SIG delivers these capabilities to modern warfighters, cyber-security analysts, and commercial entities needing to process and understand information. SIG’s technologies analyze and organize the contents of data enabling advanced search and automated reporting of key elements that other systems miss.
