Field Application Engineer

Location:  Research Triangle Park, NC

SIG is seeking a qualified Field Application Engineer to join our highly motivated and experienced software development team. 

Responsibilities would include:

  • Working with customers to configure SIG’s TASS tracking software for new data sources.
  • Providing first-tier technical support for SIG’s TASS tracking software.
  • Working with TASS development team to coordinate second-tier technical support.
  • While working with customers, identify useful new TASS features and communicate those features to the TASS development team.
  • Aid in testing TASS software by adding new tests to the existing regression test suite and by  interpreting regression test results to identify problems.
  • Maintain product documentation.

Requirements:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.  Proven track record of isolating issues and taking corrective action.
  • Proficiency with both Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Some experience with Matlab and/or a scripting a plus.
  • Experience with applications in military intelligence analysis (airborne imagery and video) a plus. 
  • Signal and/or image processing coursework a plus.
  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain clearance

Computer Vision/Image Processing Engineer

Location: Research Triangle Park, NC

Job Description: This position will support research and development for statistical analytics of sensor data with an emphasis on computer vision, machine learning, probabilistic tracking, and statistical signal/image processing. The position will collaborate with other Signal Innovations Group (SIG) personnel to support code development, documentation, and data analysis for client-driven R&D programs.  Efforts for this position will focus on intelligent sensor-based decision systems for airborne and ground-based video platforms in tactical environments.

Applicants should have a strong record of work experience in their field or equivalent graduate work. Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team with customers and contractors to develop externally sponsored research programs and expand the technological capabilities of the company. Applicants will be self-motivated to develop skills in new technical areas and to adapt to changing program emphasis, have excellent written and oral communication skills, and an innate drive to solve challenging and unique problems.

Preferred Qualifications:  Successful candidates will have the following qualifications:

  • MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar quantitative field with at least 2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Experience developing and applying image processing and computer vision techniques such as image segmentation, feature extraction, object detection and tracking, and modeling.
  • Experience with statistical signal processing including Bayesian methods.
  • Proficiency using MATLAB and/or C/C++.
  • Experience with electro-optical or infrared (EO/IR) sensor signal processing is preferred.  RADAR, SONAR or LIDAR experience is a plus.

US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) clearance is required to support relevant contract work. An active DoD clearance is preferred. Candidates that are unable to obtain a DoD clearance will not be considered for this position.

Software Engineer

Location: Research Triangle Park, NC

Job Description: This position will collaborate with other Signal Innovations Group personnel to support code development, documentation and data analysis for client-driven programs. This position will interface SIG’s advanced image analysis software with client hardware and software systems, optimize, maintain, and debug SIG’s multi-threaded, high performance, cross-platform C++ source code, translate new algorithms to C++ based on a Matlab prototype or other specifications, develop GUIs in Java and/or C++.

Requirements: 

  • BS/MS Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or relevant field
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills; thorough understanding of object-oriented programming concepts
  • Experience debugging, profiling, and optimizing code
  • Self-motivated to develop skills in new technical areas, solve challenging and unique problems, and to adapt to changing program emphasis

Algorithm Development/ Research Engineer

Location: Research Triangle Park, NC

Job Description: This position will develop new technologies and continue SIG’s vision in our fast-paced and dynamic workplace. This position will be responsible for data analysis, modeling, simulation, and development of algorithms in a wide and challenging array of fields. The position will collaborate with other Signal Innovations Group personnel to support code development, documentation and data analysis for client-driven R&D programs in MATLAB, C/C++, and other programming languages. Efforts for this position will focus on intelligent sensor-based decision systems for airborne platforms in tactical environments with particular emphasis on radar-equipped platforms.

We are looking for highly motivated developers with a background in the research areas of statistical signal/image processing, machine learning, applied Bayesian statistics, probabilistic tracking, applied physics, or applied electromagnetics; experience with EO/IR, RADAR, or SONAR sensor signal processing is also desirable.

Applicants should have a strong record of work experience in their field or equivalent graduate work. Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team with customers and contractors to develop externally sponsored research programs and expand the technological capabilities of the company.
